How to Reach Bilewater in Hollow Knight: Silksong

This guide explains exactly how to get to Bilewater in Silksong, including all secret entrance locations in both the early and mid-game.

What is Bilewater?

Bilewater is an optional area on the Silksong map, marking the transition from mid to late-game. You don’t need to explore it right away, but clearing it early offers valuable rewards like Silksong tools, Memory Lockets, and Lost Fleas. Finding a bench should be your top priority, and picking up Ascendant’s Grip from Jubilana in Songclave (for 350 Rosaries) will make this challenging area easier, especially when facing the boss that resides here.

How to Get to Bilewater

There are two main routes to reach Bilewater:

1. Via Sinner’s Road (Early Game Route)

• Requirements: Silksong Dash ability
• Steps:
• 1. Start from the bench on the western side of Sinner’s Road, which is connected to Greymoor.
  2. Head left and platform up to the top path, avoiding enemies and spikes.
  3. Hit the door lever on the right to access the platform above, then continue right.
  4. Jump over swinging traps and enemies, continue through the right path.
  5. Navigate around large metal cages, then head down to the breakable wall.
  6. Smash through the wall to enter the southwestern side of Bilewater.

2. Via Songclave (Mid-Game Route)

• Requirements: Double Jump and Grappling Hook abilities
• Steps:
• 1. Head south through the central room in Whispering Vaults, then take the right-hand path above the bench and Underworks.
  2. Continue right, then hit both the top and bottom platform cubes to push them to the right side of the room.
  3. Climb onto the lower cube, then hit the one above to push it back to the left.
  4. Double jump to the ledge above, then wall jump up.
  5. Wall jump past the rosary cage on the left until you reach the ceiling, then dash across to a secret path on the right.
  6. Wall jump up and head right, then use the Clawline to open the secret path below.
  7. Drop down and navigate through sawblade traps and spikes. The vertical drop ends in the western side of Bilewater.
